Hello Friends and Fans,

We write to you with another action-packed instalment of our monthly newsletter. It’s exciting times here at Indeedy Towers, in January we broke a record by selling out three Musical Bingo gigs in the space of a week! We are so pleased that you all come out en force to our events, and we are really grateful for our die-hard fans who keep coming back. We have so much fun putting on these parties so it’s a dream, really. Jimmy Cliff was right.

In the last month our mailing list has doubled! So hello to all of our new readers, this newsletter will arrive in your inbox monthly and will contain news and information about our upcoming events, a little love letter from us, and some fun treats, photos, and invites to our more exclusive events. Welcome to the family!

We’ve got so many Musical Bingo gigs coming up, the world is about to get a lot happier and full of prizes. Our Thursday nights at Drink Shop & Do in Kings Cross are steadily fantastic and wild, and our Friday nights at Balham Bowls Club are packed to the rafters and end in a flailing dance party. Last month’s show at Shoreditch House was full of hot competition and luxurious prizes. In March we will be bringing our fun and games to two additional new venues, please read more about these wonderful new entries to our stable of fun in the listings section of this email.

My slightly obsessive list-making night, I Love Lists, has garnered so much buzz it’s unreal! Who knew that making lists in a social atmosphere would attract so much attention? In addition to appearing on BBC London 94.9, I made an appearance on BBC Radio Scotland a few weeks ago to talk about it. The night has been recommended by Time Out, and we’ve just had the mother of all amazing reviews in Arts News London, which you can read here. The next event is on March 8th if you’d like to make some lists with me.

NEW EVENT ALERT! NEW EVENT ALERT!

I’m launching a new event concept on March 30th for people who get a bit antsy on a Friday. For those who can’t wait for the weekend to start. For those who like to dance. I am pleased to introduce:

LUNCHTIME DISCO

Lunchtime Disco is London’s only daytime dance party! Taking place in the new nightclub below Drink Shop & Do, aptly named Drink Shop & Dance, a gorgeous haven of cocktails that features a large black disco ball, a DJ booth atop a piano, and vintage pinups seen through peepholes in the walls. We’ll be putting on Lunchtime Disco on the last Friday of every month (after payday, natch), so please join us for a cheeky drink and dance with your favourite colleagues and friends. With an eclectic and truly danceworthy music policy and guest DJs, the first edition will be on Friday, March 30th and you can get tickets in advance in our web shop.

Life Is A Buffet Of Fun

Hi Lovely Blog Readers,

Thanks for coming back to read more about all the organised fun I’m creating in London these days. In January we reached record attendance for Musical Bingo and sold out three gigs in the space of a week! Thanks to all of you who came to those, hope you had as much fun as we did! Congratulations to all of our lucky prize winners, I’m sure life has improved dramatically since you won the sandwich toaster/champagne/giant calculator.

The next thing I’m serving up (life is a buffet of fun) is my list-making night, I Love Lists in Stoke Newington on Thursday, February 16th. I originally created this concept for a one-off event in 2010 at Electric House (part of the Soho House Group who I work with regularly), and dusted it off again in December 2011 for the good people of London. I felt it was time for us all to get together and make some lists in a fun, social atmosphere, to take a snapshot of London’s collective consciousness, and to create a workshop of sorts that would leave people feeling fulfilled and more organised.

I’ve always loved making lists, thus the title of this peculiar nightlife event, and I find that making lists with friends and colleagues leads me to some great ideas about improving my life, career, and sense of direction that I probably wouldn’t have come up with by myself. January Joyfulness!

Hello Dear Readers,

It’s official, January is more than halfway over. Not that I mind January, it’s a month I associate with nice things like healthy soups, long winter walks, and for some reason the colour blue (as seen in our newest Musical Bingo poster):

December was an incredible month for me, here’s a list of why:

1. I put on London’s first obsessive list-making night, I Love Lists at The Baby Bathhouse and it was a total success!
2. We did lots of private corporate Musical Bingo Christmas events, I now know all the lyrics to every Christmas song imaginable!
3. I was a featured guest on Jo Good’s The Late Show on BBC London 94.9, talking about Musical Bingo and I Love Lists!
4. We’ve added loads of photos from our past events to our website, check it out - maybe you’re on there!

Jess on the Radio, New Photos, Tickets!

Hello Friends,

We are in the process of writing our January Newsletter for Musical Bingo with Jess Indeedy (which should reach you soon if you’re signed up to our mailing list) but in the meantime I wanted to write a mini update about a few things.

JESS ON THE RADIO!
Recently I appeared on BBC London 94.9′s The Late Show with Jo Good to talk about Musical Bingo and I Love Lists, which was so exciting! You can now listen to a recording of the show on our website here. I’ve also added the recording of our first ever Musical Bingo Radio Show from October, when the lovely Dom Servini of record label Wah Wah 45s had us on his show on Colourful FM. We made history that night, and we will be back over the airwaves soon to bring you more radio-tastic helpings of our musical competition.

Snowballs, Disco Balls, Ballrooms. Can you guess what the theme of this blog title is?

We are fresh back from New York City and our mini-tour, it was an amazing trip! Our events went so well, especially at the very lush Soho House New York which was incredible (with members hugging Helix for his DJ skills, no lie) and our gig in New Haven, Connecticut which was very raucous and very fun. Whilst we were there, we got caught in a freakishly early snowstorm that managed to grind the Tri-State area to a halt for three days. Of course, you all know that when life gives Jess & Helix snowstorms, we make a snowman!

Yes, that's me in something other than a minidress.

We will continue to bring our show to the States on a regular basis because they are totally loving us, and our next trip back is planned for February. We will also be bringing our addictive fun and games to a certain European city this winter… stay tuned for the announcement!

Meanwhile, for you Londoners, we have some exciting events planned for you this month! Below is a summary about our fun goings on in November, we do hope to see you with your bingo daubers, in a ballroom, or under a disco ball soon.

DSD is so gorgeous, and we love their amazing vintage decor and tasty menu – it’s possibly the coolest bar/cafe in London. For real.

BINGO IN A BALHAM BALLROOM

South Londoners, prepare to shake it. Our first foray at The Balham Bowls Club in October was simply legendary, and we can’t wait for the next one on Friday, November 18th. Their upstairs ballroom is beautiful, and how often do you get to play bingo in a ballroom these days? Get your tickets to ensure the best seats in the house here. 

NEW HOME IN OLD STREET

Because we are so popular with private events for companies in Shoreditch and the City, we thought we’d start a regular night based in Old Street so the large number of our fans based in that area could get their regular musical bingo fix! We didn’t have to look very far, the supercool City Arts & Music Project was the obvious choice, and we will be making our debut there on Wednesday, November 23rd! This place is always packed with fun-loving, music-appreciating people and we can’t wait to introduce them to our addictive live game show!
