Because of my music education and experience as a singer and student of rock, electronic, jazz, and classical music, I have been asked to pen music quizzes on several occasions. A popular example is Rock ‘n’ Roll High School Music Quiz, a night I created for The Stag in Hampstead. The brief was for a guitar-based music quiz on a Tuesday evening, for which I called upon my knowledge hair metal, indie, blues and good old rock and roll for content. The life span of the quiz itself was about eight months (autumn-spring), but it generated so much interest that I am still contacted regularly to put on this quiz (and other themed quizzes) for private events. Because my musical tastes and span most genres, I have created different themed quizzes such as 80s, Pop, and Jazz for my private event and venue clients. I quite enjoy the process of writing a music quiz, and usually employ a three-part format of a worksheet section, 40 questions, and a listening round.
