6 Practical Tips to Find Balance Right Now

Hello lovely,

Let’s talk about the concept of 'balance' as a state of mind. A perspective. And how you can feel balanced in your life right now, even as you read this post.

Honestly, lately I've felt a bit out of balance, but I'm almost back on track. Trying to navigate the 'new world' is challenging, especially for someone who has a career in events, and I've been feeling like I did when I first started my business: finding my feet and hustling at the same time. Doesn't that sound like the perfect setup to trip and fall?

Hustle mentality never worked for me, so it's strange that this feeling is trying to crop up now. I almost forgot to have fun for a minute there. Don't worry, I've had a gentle word with myself and I'm snapping out of it! I'm at my best when I relax and enjoy myself, and as a creative it's important to reach that ideal 'flow state'. There are a few tried-and-true things I do when I'm feeling out of sorts, and they always put me on the right path.

Have you been feeling unbalanced lately? I'm here to help!

Here are my top tips for achieving balance, or to help you reframe your perception and realise you're actually balancing wonderfully:

1. Get centred

You can get back in touch with yourself in many ways. For me, meditation, fun exercise, and self-care really do the trick. Breathe. Stretch your body. Do my 5-Day Mood Boost, I'm not linking it here but it's on my website.

2. Take stock of the good stuff

Make a list of the things that are going great for you right now, and focus on them for a few minutes. Look how far you've come!

3. Get out of your head for a sec

Go do something fun, silly, or blissful. Play a game. Take a break. Blast your favourite song and make up some new choreography, just for you. Learn to Vogue from YouTube while sitting at your desk. Do some Kegels.

4. Drink a giant glass of water
and smile with every sip. Do it!

5. Make a plan for balance

Sometimes it takes actual planning to make your life feel balanced. Look at the coming days, weeks, or months and see how you've planned your time. Is it all work and no play? Do you have plans to see your friends?

You could add various things to your calendar to make your life feel more balanced, such as exercise classes, comedy nights, park walks with friends or family, or even a dedicated 'me time' day where you do whatever the hell you want for yourself with no interruptions.

6. Set some goals

Write down a list of your goals and manifest them into existence. You could simply write in present tense 'I feel balanced in my life' on a piece of paper and stick it on your mirror.

Whatever you need more of in your life to make it feel well-curated, add it to your goals list. Maybe it's more movement, more fun, more vitamin-rich food, more orgasms, more rest - be specific and write it down.

Which of these tips jump out at you?
Even choosing one of them will give you a better sense of clarity and balance. Be kind to yourself, you're doing a great job and you probably only need a slight tweak or reframe.

Please let me know how it goes in our private Facebook Group, and share what wonderful things you’ve got planned for yourself. And if you get stuck, share that too! See you over there.

I hope these tips give you a fresh perspective on balance, and that this week is one of your most fulfilling!

Love,

Jess xx
